Foundation 'AtemWeg'

Foundation 'AtemWeg' for Comprehensive Pneumology Center Munich: From 2010 onwards, Helmholtz Centre Munich and Münchner Bank support the research of the lung system.

The Foundation 'AtemWeg' supports one of the greatest centres for pneumology in Germany, the Comprehensive Pneumology Center (CPC). The foundation's aim is to promote the diagnosis, therapy and prevention of lung diseases. Besides known personalities from the economic, political and societal sector, the Bavarian secretary of state for science, research and arts, Dr Wolfgang Heubisch, as well as the president of the Helmholtz Society, Prof Jürgen Mlynek, are members of the board of trustees.

The foundation looks for donors and sponsors who would like to accompany and leave their mark on the project from the beginning. This may happen in different ways, like e.g. the financing of single research projects, scholarships for students of science, the equipment of the laboratories or the accompaniment of prevention campaigns. Known personalities, institutions or companies can leave their mark on the project in this way.
